The feed is biomass that has already been used and is currently being disposed of in landfill. Only 10% of the power produced is required to produce the gas. (i.e. extraction, refining and transport – oil, gas, coal etc use vast amounts of energy).

By diverting waste from landfill, the major problems of finding landfill sites, possible watercourse pollution and gas emissions are eliminated.
