Very safe, the downdraft gasifier principle is well proven (invented over 100 years ago). The reactor works under a vacuum, therefore there is no danger of gas leakage as the vessel is not under pressure.
The process is a thermo-chemical process in which the bio mass is heated in an oxygen deficient atmosphere, high temperatures (1000°C+) and reduced oxygen limit emissions and utilising new gas clean up technology to ensure the gas produced is suitable to be efficiently burnt in engines with very favourable emissions profile.
